Common Uses: Salicin is useful in diseases accompanies by fever, rheumatic ailments, headaches and pain caused by inflammation.
*Warnings: There have been few reported side effects. However, the same side effects as aspirin may theoretically occur, especially at higher doses:ringing in the ears, ulcers, stomach burning, pain, cramping, nausea, gastrointestinal bleeding and liver toxicity, rash, dizziness, and kidneyimpairment.
Origin: Ancient Assyrian, Egyptian, and Greek medicine as well as by Native American healers in North America.
