Last month UCAN’s Vice Chief resigned his position leaving a vacancy. Starting November 1, 2021 Tribal Council is requesting all tribal citizen’s mail in their nomination for the position. These nominations must meet the following qualifications:
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must be computer literate.
Must be an enrolled citizen of good standing for a minimum of 3 years (good standing definition meaning actively involved in tribal activities and familiar with current events).
Will be required to spend time in office with Chief to learn all business conducted in tribal office, including, but not limited to grants. (This requirement will be enforced after office building is up).
Will be expected to fill in for the Principal Chief as acting Chief if Principal Chief is unable to perform the duties, to include working in the tribal office.

After all nominations are received tribal council will notify the top 3 candidates for an interview at the next council meeting. After the interview council will discuss all the information and vote on candidate to fill position. (We have already received a nomination for Lucas Bridges).
Tribal Council is adding a new position to Council. This position will be an apprentice position. If this turns out to be successful there may be more positions added at a later date. This apprentice position will be as an apprentice to the Tribal Secretary. The qualifications for this position are:
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must be computer literate
Must be an enrolled citizen of good standing for a minimum of 3 years (good standing definition meaning actively involved in tribal activities and familiar with current events).
Will be expected to spend time with the Tribal Secretary in learning this position.
Must be available to attend meetings.
